Hamilton Mountain trail is a great hike, and has so many beautiful look outs and water falls. Here are just a couple of shots from my hike today.

The Cowans{Family Photos}

March 11, 2010

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of taking the Cowans family portraits. Susan and I had been trying to nail down a shoot date for some time now, and finally settled on the 8th, as  it was supposed to be a sunny day.   They were all troopers for bearing with the weather for an hour as it turned from sunny and brisk, to down right freezing and SNOW!  Here is a little sneak peak of some of my favorites.

Interesting

March 8, 2010

I take photos almost everyday, sometimes I come up with ones I just love, and other times not so much. But every once in awhile I take one that’s just interesting. I don’t know what it is about these, they’re not obviously amazing, super striking nor breathtaking. They are simply just interesting in an annoying way. I find myself looking at them and saying, “Oh, that’s kinda cool–now to the next one.” In the end, I have to go back and look at it again and again. Not for very long, Just long enough to say, “Oh that’s kinda neat, I like that one, it’s interesting.” It’s a little piece of a big picture, one that I might just love, and that would be amazing. A small piece that fits into some image, stored deep inside the creative closet of my mind. Like the fleeting memories of a fading dream–I can just see small parts and pieces–vanishing glimpses of the big picture. They seam to flash in my mind like the irritating flicker of a fluorescent light bulb. I only want to fall back asleep into the dream and see it all, the big picture. But as you know, that never works. So I’m forced to take what I have, and slowly piece it together. Staying hopeful that as I gather little bits over time, one day I will finally take the photo that’s been haunting me. Until then I’m left with this. Like I said, I don’t love it, I don’t think it’s amazing, it’s just interesting.
